We were so excited and busy with the launch, that we never got around to posting a news story here about our new Online Data Maturity Self Assessment Tool.
We launched the tool at the beginning of October, along with a new version of our Data Maturity Framework, which describes the five stages non-profits go through on their journey towards ‘data maturity’.
It’s the only tool out there specifically designed for non-profits / social enterprises / charities to self-assess how their organisation is doing with data. It highlights areas of strength and weakness, giving an overall score, as well as a measurement across seven key themes: Uses, Data, Analysis, Leadership, Culture, Tools, and Skills. It also provides benchmarking data for comparison with the sector.

Charity Digital News and Third Sector both covered the launch of the tool, and we’re delighted to say that we’ve already had over 1,100 visitors to our data maturity webpage, with over 100 people using the tool to assess their non-profit’s data maturity.
If you want to take a free assessment of your organisation’s data maturity, there are two free versions - a quick 5 minute version, which will give a broad overview of where you are; and the 20 minute full version, which provides an 8 page report with detail on priority areas and benchmarking too. Either way, it's designed in a straightforward, questionnaire style, so is easy to complete.
For those really serious about measuring and benchmarking their organisation’s data maturity, perhaps in larger or more dispersed organisations, we also offer a paid version of the assessment. This enables lots of people in the organisation to take the 20 minute assessment and get their own individual reports, and most importantly, provides a ‘Whole Organisation’ report aggregating the results from across your team(s).
