Data support for not-for-profits
Last month we launched our report - State of the Sector - Data Maturity in the Not-for-Profit Sector 2020 - exploring the data from the first 15 months of use of our Data Maturity Assessment tool.
Of the ten key findings in the report, one of the most troubling to us was the last one:
Finding #10: There’s a lack of skills, responsibility and support around data.
This finding can broadly be broken down into two aspects:
Lack of skills and clear responsibilities in data internally - Over half in the sector don’t feel they’ve got the right skills and capabilities to maximise use of data
Lack of external expertise - Only 31% told us they had access to support and advice around data from experts that they trust
At Data Orchard we continue to work with as many organisations as possible to fill that gap, improving not-for-profits’ use of data for better decisions and bigger impact.
But we realise we can’t do it alone!
Thankfully, there are many of us in the data4good movement working to support not-for-profits and Data Orchard, for one, is committed to working together, sharing best practice and pooling resources where we can.
With this in mind, we thought it was a good time to re-share one of our resources - our list of data support providers.
If you are part of a not-for-profit organisation, desperate for help with your data, please get in touch with us, or check out the list of providers!
And, if you’re a data consultant or support provider working with not-for-profits, please do update your entry, or add yourself to the list if you aren’t already included.
