The data folk equivalent of a bring and share buffet but instead of salad, sandwiches and sausage rolls you bring your thoughts on data skills. A chance to discuss and share experiences: who needs training, what works to develop skills, what doesn't work, and how can we identify what skills people in different roles need?
This is part of a short series of interactive workshops we're running, aiming to provide a (virtual) space where data folk - in particular, those working in or with not-for-profits - from across the UK and the World can meet, chat and learn from each other.
In this workshop we’ll lead you through a process working in small groups in breakout rooms to think about data skills in non-for-profit organisations. We’ll be thinking about the specialist skills you need (or my want) in a data specialist (or data team) along with the skills you’ll need across the organisation.
Then we’ll encourage everyone to share examples of skills development that has gone well, and examples of where it has not gone well. This will be about pooling the knowledge of those who join the workshop rather than listening to an expert talking.
We’ll write up the results like we did for this workshop on The Greatest Data Strategy Ever?
